A fifth Russian marketplace has refused to compensate for the loss of goods due to drone attacks
The Russian marketplace “Magnit Market” has become the fifth major platform in Russia to disclaim liability for the loss or damage of goods in the event of drone attacks on warehouses. Effective August 1, the company amended its agency agreement, recognizing military, combat, defense, and counterterrorism operations as force majeure events.
Under the new rules, the marketplace will also not pay compensation in the event of other extraordinary circumstances, and actions taken by employees or emergency services to move or destroy goods will not be considered a breach of obligations. Previously, similar changes had already been introduced by Wildberries, Ozon, Yandex Market, and Megamarket.

Following a series of strikes on Wildberries’ logistics centers, owners of order pickup points began losing customers and revenue. In some regions, their revenue in July fell by 15–20% year-over-year, and on peak days, the decline reached 30–40%. Market representatives warn that some pickup points may become unprofitable, and by the end of the year, about 15% of them may close.
On the night of August 5, drones attacked the Wildberries logistics complex in Aleksin, Tula Oblast, Russia. The strike hit the company’s largest warehouse in Russia’s Central Federal District, with an area of approximately 300,000 square meters.
