In the Donetsk region, Vladislav Ilyin, a soldier with the 72nd Mechanized Brigade with the call sign “Timati,” was killed during a combat mission. He had been listed as missing in action for over a year, and his identity was confirmed only after DNA testing.

Ilyin was originally from Sumy, grew up in the “Plast” youth organization in Mykolaiv, and voluntarily enlisted in the military in 2017. Until 2021, he served in a marine brigade, and after the start of the full-scale invasion, he joined the 72nd Mechanized Brigade.

He took part in the battles for Vuhledar, where he was wounded in 2024. After treatment and rehabilitation, he returned to the front and served as a sapper in an engineering and sapper unit.

Near the village of Troitske in the Pokrovsk District, Ilyin was carrying out a combat mission alongside three fellow soldiers. During a Russian mortar attack, anti-tank mines detonated near their position. All four soldiers were killed.

For a long time, the bodies could not be identified. Eventually, DNA testing confirmed Vladislav’s identity.

He is survived by his fiancée, mother, relatives, and friends. Ilyin became the 90th Plast member to be killed on the front lines or to die from injuries sustained during the war.
