Pletenchuk: Novorossiysk Remains the Last Outpost of the Russian Black Sea Fleet
Novorossiysk effectively remains the last place where Russia can fully station its Black Sea Fleet warships after Crimea lost its status as a reliable naval base for the Russian Federation.
This was stated by Dmytro Pletenchuk, spokesperson for the Ukrainian Navy.
“It’s the last outpost where they still keep their ships,” he emphasized.
According to Pletenchuk, Russia is trying to protect Novorossiysk as much as possible from Ukrainian attacks. To this end, the occupiers are using various air defense systems and surface-to-surface systems.
“They have surrounded it with various means of defense, including both surface vessels and air defense systems, and are simply trying to survive,” the spokesperson explained.
At the same time, he noted that in occupied Crimea, there is effectively no longer any question of the Russian Black Sea Fleet being fully based there.

In Dnipro on Friday, August 7, a World Health Organization humanitarian warehouse was destroyed as a result of an attack. There were no people on the premises at the time of the strike, and no casualties were reported.
Over the past 24 hours, the occupiers lost 1,130 troops and more than 400 pieces of military equipment.
In the Kherson region, one person was killed and two were wounded as a result of Russian shelling.
