Poland temporarily halts airports following Russian attack on Ukraine

The airports in Rzeszów and Lublin, in eastern Poland, temporarily suspended operations for several hours on the night before Tuesday to ensure the uninterrupted movement of military aircraft.

This was reported by the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency (PANSA), as cited by TVP World.

The decision was made by Polish aviation authorities to guarantee that military operations could be carried out without posing a risk to civilian air traffic.

According to the Polish military, the air traffic restrictions were temporary and did not pose a threat to either civilian or military airspace in the country.

Eva Złotnicka, spokesperson for the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces, explained that the military aircraft were conducting planned training flights. She confirmed that the situation remained under control but did not specify the types of aircraft involved.

For context, Poland is preparing a military aid package for Ukraine worth hundreds of millions of euros.

Additionally, Andriy Sybiga expressed gratitude to Poland for supplying generators to Ukraine.
