Ukraine's air defense forces shot down 92 of 99 Russian drones

During a nighttime attack, Russian forces launched nearly a hundred strike drones and decoy drones at Ukraine, but most of them were intercepted by air defense forces. Various regions of the country, where mobile groups and air defense units were operating, came under attack.

According to preliminary data, most of the enemy targets did not reach their intended targets, although isolated hits and debris falls were recorded.

Ukraine’s air defense forces neutralized 92 out of 99 drones used by Russian troops to attack Ukraine beginning on the evening of June 19. This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force on Telegram.

According to the military, the attack began around 6:00 p.m. on June 19 and involved 99 strike drones of various types, including Shahed (some of which were jet-powered), “Gerbera,” “Italmas,” and decoy drones of the “Parody” type. The drones were launched from the directions of Orel, Bryansk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk. “The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces,” the statement said.

According to preliminary data as of 8:00 a.m. on June 20, air defense forces shot down or neutralized 92 enemy drones in northern, southern, and eastern Ukraine. At the same time, seven attack drones were recorded striking three locations, and debris from downed drones was found in three additional areas.

The Air Force notes that the attack was not yet over at the time of publication, as some enemy drones remained in the airspace. Ukrainian defense forces continue to track and destroy targets entering the country’s airspace. The Ukrainian Air Force reported this on Telegram.

On June 19, there were 234 combat engagements between the Ukrainian Defense Forces and the Russian army on the front lines. The most intense fighting was accompanied by massive strikes from aircraft, drones, and artillery.

Over the past 24 hours, the Russian army has lost another 1,240 soldiers in the war against Ukraine. Russia’s total losses since the start of the full-scale invasion have now approached 1.4 million people.
