Ukraine’s air defense forces have shot down 154 of the 171 drones used by Russian troops to attack the country since the evening of April 28. The air assault is ongoing, and enemy targets remain in the sky.

The attack began at 6:00 p.m. The Russians deployed 171 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and other types of attack drones. Launches were carried out from the directions of Kursk, Orel, Shatalovo, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russian Federation), the temporarily occupied city of Donetsk, as well as Gvardeyskoye and Chauda in occupied Crimea. About 120 of them were Shahed-type drones.
The Ukrainian Defense Forces deployed aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups to repel the attack.
According to preliminary data as of 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 29, air defense forces shot down or neutralized 154 enemy drones in the north, south, and east of the country.
At the same time, 12 strike UAVs were recorded hitting 10 locations. Additionally, debris from downed drones fell at 12 other locations.
The attack is not over—several enemy drones remain in Ukrainian airspace.
Russian troops carried out about 50 attacks on the Dnipropetrovsk region throughout the day, using drones and artillery. Two people were killed and 11 others were wounded as a result of the shelling.
In the Kharkiv region, the day was marked by intense Russian shelling, which killed a 61-year-old woman and injured seven others, including a one-and-a-half-year-old child; strikes hit both Kharkiv and a number of settlements in the region.
Following a nighttime attack on Dnipro, rescue workers recovered the bodies of two victims from the rubble of a destroyed building; however, according to preliminary data, people may still be trapped under the debris, and search operations continue. The number of casualties has risen to 21; medical personnel continue to provide assistance, and all emergency services are on the scene.
