The Ukrainian Armed Forces are establishing a continuous line of defense stretching from the Kyiv Reservoir to Sumy
Construction is underway in Ukraine on a large-scale defensive line along the northern border—from the Kyiv Reservoir to Sumy—to prevent a possible new Russian offensive.
This was announced by Brigadier General Vasyl Syrotenko, Chief of Engineering Troops of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Support Command.
According to him, a fully-fledged echeloned defense system has already been established in the Sumy region in a short period of time, which includes several lines of defense to deter the enemy.
He emphasized that the defensive structures are visible even from space, and the process of their construction can be observed in real time.
At the same time, a continuous defensive line is being established, covering a significant section of the northern sector. This involves a comprehensive system of fortifications, to which significant resources have been allocated.
The main goal is to prevent a sudden breakthrough by the Russian Federation, make the creation of a so-called “buffer zone” impossible, and ensure control over border territories.
According to Syrotenko, construction is proceeding at an accelerated pace with the concentration of significant forces and resources.
The Ministry of Defenseis preparing a large-scale reform of the service.
