Three fires were extinguished in Kyiv following a suicide bombing; there are injuries
Two people were injured in a daytime attack by Russian drones in Kyiv on April 28, 2026. Medical personnel provided on-site treatment to one person in the Solomyanskyi district, while another man was hospitalized following a traffic accident caused by an explosion in the Shevchenkivskyi district.
This was reported by Mayor Vitali Klitschko and the State Emergency Service.
Rescue teams extinguished three fires in two districts of the capital. In the Shevchenkivskyi district, damage was reported to the facade and roof of an unfinished building, where the area of the collapsed ceiling was approximately 1 square meter. This was caused by a direct hit by a suicide drone on the “Creator City” residential complex. In the Solomyanskyi district, debris from a downed drone fell onto a cemetery, causing a fire in 5 square meters of trash, which firefighters quickly extinguished.
Work to address the aftermath is currently underway at the crash sites. The attack occurred amid President Zelenskyy’s calls in May for partners to ensure a stable supply of missiles for air defense systems. Defense forces continue to repel air threats from Russia, protecting the city’s critical infrastructure and residential neighborhoods.
Russian troops carried out a massive attack with strike drones on the Odesa region. Once again, the enemy’s primary target was the region’s port and logistics infrastructure.
An attack by enemy drones was recorded in Chernihiv, resulting in fires and damage to residential buildings in the city.
Ukrainian rescue workers have completed emergency restoration work at the site of a four-story building partially destroyed by a Russian strike. Six people are known to have died, and another 23 were injured.
