Air defense forces shot down 56 drones and two "Banderola" drones during a nighttime attack by Russia
On the night of August 18–19, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 65 strike drones and two “Iskander-M” ballistic missiles. Air defense forces shot down 56 drones and two “Banderole” loitering munitions. At the same time, strikes were recorded at 10 locations.
According to military reports, starting at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 18, the enemy launched two Iskander-M ballistic missiles, 65 Shahed-type strike UAVs (including jet-powered ones), “Gerbera,” “Banderol” loitering munitions, and “Parody”-type decoy drones from the following directions: Kursk, Orel, as well as the temporarily occupied cities of Donetsk and Gvardeyskoye (in the temporarily occupied Crimea).
The air attack was repelled by the Ukrainian Air Force, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 19, air defense forces shot down or neutralized 56 drones and two “Banderole” drones in northern, southern, and eastern Ukraine.
Hits were recorded at 10 locations, and downed targets (debris) were found at three locations.

As a result of a Russian attack on August 18, the premises of the “Kyivguma” factory in Brovary, Kyiv Oblast, sustained damage. No employees were injured, and the damage is not considered critical, according to preliminary estimates.
On the evening of August 18 and overnight on August 19, Russian forces attacked the Nikopol and Kryvyi Rih districts of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast more than 10 times with drones and artillery. As a result of the shelling, an administrative building, a private home, and other civilian structures were damaged, and a fire broke out. According to preliminary data, there were no fatalities or injuries.
Earlier, a Russian drone attacked a car carrying bread near Zaporizhzhia.
