Air defense forces shot down 95 of 123 Russian drones; some were hit
On the night of April 28, Ukraine’s Air Defense Forces shot down 95 enemy drones, though some hits were also recorded.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force.
According to preliminary data, as of 08:00, Ukrainian air defense forces shot down or neutralized 95 drones of various types, including Shahed, “Gerbera,” and “Italmas.” At the same time, 19 strike UAVs were recorded hitting 16 locations, and debris from downed drones was found in four additional locations.
In total, the enemy deployed 123 drones, of which about 80 were Shahed-type drones. The attacks were launched from Russian territory (Kursk, Orel, Shatalovo, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk), as well as from the temporarily occupied Crimea (Gvardeyskoye).
The Ukrainian Defense Forces deployed aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups to repel the air attack.
Information regarding the consequences of the strikes is being clarified.
Russian troops again attacked Sumy with a drone, striking a parking lot in the Kovpakivskyi district of the city. Seven vehicles were damaged as a result of the attack. Information regarding casualties is being verified.
Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops shelled 18 settlements in the Kharkiv region, resulting in civilian casualties.
On the night of April 26, Russian troops carried out a massive attack with strike drones on the Odesa region. Once again, the enemy’s primary target was the region’s port and logistics infrastructure.
An attack by enemy drones was recorded in Chernihiv, resulting in fires and damage to residential buildings in the city.
Ukrainian rescue workers have completed emergency restoration work at the site of a four-story building partially destroyed by a Russian strike. Six people are known to have died, and another 23 were injured.
