Air defense forces shot down more than a hundred Russian drones during a nighttime attack on Ukraine
On the night of July 15, Ukraine’s air defense forces shot down 101 of the 122 drones used by Russian troops to attack the country’s territory. This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force.
According to military sources, starting at 6:00 p.m. on July 14, the Russian army also launched an attack using two X-59/69 guided air-to-ground missiles fired from the airspace of the temporarily occupied Crimea.
In addition, the occupiers deployed 122 attack drones of various types, including Shahed (some of which were jet-powered), “Gerbera,” “Italmas,” and “Parodia” decoy drones. The launches were carried out from the Kursk, Orel, and Millerovo regions (Russian Federation), as well as from the temporarily occupied cities of Donetsk and Gvardeyskoye in Crimea.
Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, were involved in repelling the air attack.
According to preliminary information, as of the morning of July 15, Ukrainian air defense forces had shot down or neutralized 101 enemy drones in the north, east, and south of the country.
At the same time, two missiles and 18 attack drones were recorded as having struck 19 locations. Debris from downed aerial targets was also recorded at seven additional locations.
This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As a reminder, Russian troops have been striking three districts of the Dnipropetrovsk region since the evening of July 14. The enemy used drones and artillery; a 53-year-old man was injured as a result of the attacks.
On the night of July 14, Russian troops carried out a massive combined attack on Ukraine, using ballistic missiles, guided air-to-ground missiles, and attack drones. Air defense forces intercepted five ballistic missiles, two Kh-59/69 missiles, and 108 enemy drones.
