The Prosecutor's Office has opened two cases following the Russian strike on a complex in the Kyiv region
Law enforcement officials have opened two criminal investigations following a Russian ballistic missile strike on a private complex in the Kyiv region where representatives of the Ukrainian defense industry were present. One case concerns a war crime committed by the Russian Federation, while the other concerns possible dereliction of duty during the organization of the event.
This was reported by Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko. According to him, at least 10 people were killed as a result of the Russian attack, and about 100 more were injured.
“The investigation will determine who made the decision to hold the event, who approved the location, time, and format of the event, what security measures were in place, and whether the risks were properly assessed under martial law,” Kravchenko stated.
The Prosecutor General clarified that the investigation into the war crime is being conducted under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. A separate criminal case under Part 3 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine has been opened regarding the possible improper performance of official duties during the organization and conduct of the event, which led to the loss of life and other serious consequences.
The Ukrainian Air Force reported that the Russians fired three ballistic missiles at the Kyiv region. Air defense forces managed to shoot down one of them, while the other two hit their targets.

As a reminder, on July 24 at approximately 11:30 a.m., Russian troops launched an attack on the Kyiv region with three “Iskander-M”/S-400 ballistic missiles from the north. Air defense forces intercepted one missile; two others struck the Bucha district.
Two Russian ballistic missiles struck a private sports complex in the Kyiv region, not a Ukrainian Armed Forces training ground. This was reported by Air Force spokesperson Yuriy Ignat.
Cleanup efforts following the Russian ballistic strike are ongoing in the Kyiv region. In the Bucha district, 27 private homes and 44 vehicles were damaged as a result of the shelling.
