Putin's ceasefire: Russians have carried out 55 attacks since the start of the day

Since the start of the day and as of 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 12, the Russian army has carried out 55 assault operations against the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. The highest intensity of hostilities was recorded in the Pokrovsk and Kostyantynivka sectors, where the occupiers launched 14 and 11 attacks, respectively.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, noting that Ukrainian defenders continue to wear down Russian forces along the entire front line.

In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy attempted to push back Ukrainian units in the areas of Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Udachne, and a number of other settlements, where one assault operation is still ongoing. Meanwhile, in the Kostiantynivka direction, the invaders attacked near Pleshchiivka, Illinivka, and Novopavlivka. Russian activity was also observed in the Huliaipole and Southern Slobozhanshchyna directions, where nine and seven assault attempts were recorded, respectively.

In the Northern Slobozhanskyi sector, border villages in Sumy Oblast came under fire, specifically Tovstodubove and Bachivsk. In the Kupianskyi, Lyman, and Slovianskyi sectors, the Defense Forces are repelling the occupiers’ attempts to advance toward Lyman and Rai-Oleksandrivka. Currently, no active assault operations have been recorded in the Orikhiv and Dnipro directions, but the situation in other sectors of the front remains tense under constant pressure from Russian forces.

The Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, is preparing an appeal to the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross regarding the execution of four Ukrainian prisoners of war and an evacuation team. The execution took place during the declared Easter ceasefire.

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin announced a temporary cessation of hostilities on the front lines, effective from 4:00 p.m. Moscow time on April 11 until the end of the day on April 12, 2026.
