The Oreshnik and Kedr missiles do not pose the main threat to Ukraine — Budanov

The Russian “Oreshnik” and “Kedr” missiles, which Russia actively touts as one of the main threats, are primarily intended for demonstration purposes. At the same time, Russia maintains a sufficient stockpile of weapons to continue the war against Ukraine.

This was stated by the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine during the international forum “Security Architecture.”

According to him, a much more serious danger to Ukraine is posed by the Iskander operational-tactical missile systems, S-400 systems, air- and sea-launched cruise missiles, as well as strike drones.

He also emphasized that Ukrainian strikes on Russian territory have already become a tangible challenge for the Kremlin. According to him, Moscow did not expect such a large-scale use of Ukrainian drones and missiles against its own territory.

The Head of the Presidential Office noted that such attacks not only create psychological difficulties for Russia but also have a systemic impact on its military and security infrastructure.

Ukraine is ready for dialogue with Russia provided Moscow is genuinely committed to serious talks, but such meetings require careful preparation. Any direct contacts between the leaders of the warring states do not occur spontaneously or via ordinary telephone communication.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that he is ready to hold a summit with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, and the search for an appropriate format is currently underway.
