A police officer was killed and others were injured in an explosion in the Dnipropetrovsk region
A police officer was killed while on duty in the Pokrovskaya rural community of the Nikopol District in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. In addition, another law enforcement officer and two civilians sustained injuries of varying severity.
This was reported by the Dnipropetrovsk region police.
The tragic incident occurred in the afternoon near a private residence, where a powerful explosion was heard. As a result of his injuries, Senior Lieutenant Bogdan Monakhov, a community police officer, died at the scene. He was 27 years old, having dedicated nearly six of those years to service in law enforcement. Bogdan began his career as a beat officer at the Tomakivka Police Station, and in 2025, he successfully passed a competitive selection process and transferred to the community police officer unit.
Along with the victim, three people were injured in the explosion—his fellow law enforcement officer and two civilian men who were nearby. All the victims are receiving the necessary medical care. A police vehicle and a private home also sustained significant damage from the blast wave and debris. Specialized services are working at the scene to determine all the circumstances and causes of the explosion.
