Ukraine will attack the Shahid bases in Belarus if threatened — Flash
If bases are established on Belarusian territory to launch Shahed-type attack drones against Ukraine, the Defense Forces will launch retaliatory strikes against them.
This was stated by Serhiy Beskrestnov, an advisor to the Ukrainian Minister of Defense (“Flash”).
According to him, any aggression from Belarusian territory gives Ukraine the right to a symmetrical response using appropriate weapons.
Beskrestnov noted that if bases for launching “Shaheds” appear on Belarusian territory, Ukrainian forces will be able to attack them with other types of drones. At the same time, the nature of the response will depend on the specific threat.
He also emphasized that Ukrainian intelligence is constantly monitoring the situation in Belarus, particularly troop movements, infrastructure construction, and possible signs of preparations for new operations.
According to the minister’s advisor, “Shahed” control centers had previously been operating on Belarusian territory and were used to attack Ukrainian infrastructure. Currently, no such activity has been recorded, but the possibility of its resumption cannot be ruled out.
Beskrestnov also warned that if Belarusian territory is used to launch drones, important logistics routes—including the Kyiv–Chop highway—could be at risk. At the same time, he said, Ukraine is preparing for potential challenges, including through the use of electronic warfare systems and interceptor drones.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia is attempting to draw Belarus deeper into the war against Ukraine and is considering new scenarios for aggression from its territory.
Belarus’s self-proclaimed president, Alexander Lukashenko, held a meeting on military equipment and announced the preparation of a new state armament program for 2026–2030.
