For the second day in a row, the Russian army has been striking the town of Derhachi in the Kharkiv region using V2U drones capable of targeting using artificial intelligence.
This was reported on Telegram by Vyacheslav Zadorenko, head of the Derhachi Military-Civilian Administration.
"Around 10:30 a.m., the occupiers struck Derhachi with several drones. Several strikes hit an administrative building and a civilian company’s vehicle, while another hit a gas station. According to preliminary information, the Russians used V2U drones," the message reads.
There is currently no information on casualties.
The V2U strike drone searches for, identifies, and selects targets using artificial intelligence and is capable of operating without constant communication with the operator, particularly in conditions where electronic warfare systems are active. According to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, the UAV is assembled from components primarily manufactured in China.
Russia lost 820 invaders in the war in Ukraine over the past 24 hours.
A total of 104 combat engagements were recorded on the front line. The heaviest fighting is taking place in the Pokrovsk direction, where Russian troops carried out 20 attacks on the positions of the Defense Forces. Enemy losses are also reported—over 70 soldiers.
It should be noted that since the creation of this new branch of the military, Ukrainian unmanned systems units have demonstrated extraordinary effectiveness, putting tens of thousands of enemy weapons out of commission.
On April 12, Russian troops violated the ceasefire by using drones to kill three unarmed fighters who turned out to be their own captured comrades.
The Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine has opened a criminal investigation into yet another war crime committed by Russian servicemen. According to the investigation, near the village of Veterinarne in the Kharkiv region, the invaders cynically killed four Ukrainian prisoners of war.
