Russia attacked the Sumy region 71 times in the past 24 hours; seven children were among the wounded

Over the past 24 hours, on July 27, Russian troops carried out 71 strikes on 23 settlements in the Sumy region. As a result of the enemy shelling, 19 people were injured, including seven children.

The situation was most severe in the Sumy community, where Russian troops used guided aerial bombs

Three boys aged 3, 6, and 10, a 71-year-old man, and two 38-year-old women were injured in the strikes. In addition, another 71-year-old man was injured in an attack by a strike drone.

The shelling destroyed a warehouse and damaged a private home, two gas stations, nine vehicles, and a business premises.

In the Bilopil community, a three-year-old girl, an 11-month-old boy, and a 36-year-old woman were injured as a result of a Russian drone attack. Two private homes and a warehouse were also damaged.

In the Shostka community, two boys aged 12 and 14 were injured after a drone strike.

In the Hlukhiv community, a Russian drone injured a 24-year-old man. The attack damaged 16 private homes and four apartment buildings, the city council building, a high school, a car wash, eight vehicles, and power lines.

In the Seredyna-Budsk community, a 72-year-old and a 54-year-old woman were injured in a drone attack.

In the Nedryhailiv community, a Russian drone struck a residential building. A 40-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman were injured, and a 49-year-old woman sustained injuries.

In the Velyka Pysarivka community, a 74-year-old man was wounded as a result of a drone strike.

Investigative and operational teams, along with bomb disposal experts, worked at the sites of the Russian strikes. Law enforcement officers surveyed the damaged areas, removed explosive devices, and documented the consequences of the shelling.

Criminal proceedings have been opened in all cases under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—“Violation of the Laws and Customs of War.”

This was reported by the National Police of Ukraine.

In the Bilopil community in the Sumy region, three people—a woman and her two young children—were injured as a result of a Russian drone attack.

Over the past 24 hours, on July 27, the Ukrainian Armed Forces eliminated another 1,560 Russian soldiers. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine released updated data on Russian military losses as of July 28, 2026.
