Russia attacked Ukraine with ballistic missiles, "Kinzhal" missiles, and UAVs
Ukraine’s air defense forces shot down or intercepted 96 Russian drones overnight and this morning, which Russia had used to attack various regions of the country.
At the same time, strikes by ballistic missiles and at least six attack drones were recorded.
On the night of June 21 (starting at 6:00 p.m. on June 20), Russian forces deployed:
- 2 “Iskander-M/S-400” ballistic missiles from the Voronezh region
- 2 “Kinzhal” aeroballistic missiles
- 105 attack UAVs, including Shahed, “Gerbera,” “Italmas,” “Banderol” loitering munitions, and decoy drones
The launches were carried out from the directions of Orel, Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as from the temporarily occupied Crimea.
The air attack was repelled by the Ukrainian Air Force, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
As of 09:00, it was confirmed that air defense forces:
destroyed or neutralized 96 enemy UAVs in the north, south, east, and center of the country.
At the same time, the following were recorded:
- ballistic missiles and 6 attack drones struck 6 locations
- debris falling in 5 locations
Information regarding the consequences of the use of two aeroballistic missiles is being clarified.

The Russian army struck the Poltava district, killing two people and bringing the number of casualties to 14, including six children.
Since the evening, Russian troops have carried out more than 20 attacks on three districts in the Dnipropetrovsk region, using aerial bombs, drones, and artillery. As a result of the enemy strikes, one person was killed and nine others were wounded.
On June 20, Russian troops attacked Zaporizhzhia with nine guided aerial bombs, killing at least five people and wounding 11 others, according to local sources.
On the night of June 20, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a number of Russian military targets. Among the targets was a bridge near Henichesk, which the occupiers use to transport equipment and resupply their troops between occupied Crimea and the southern front.
In Taganrog, Russia, a power substation that supplied electricity to the “Atlant-Aero” defense enterprise was damaged. As a result, production lines involved in the manufacture of drones were disrupted.
