Russia launched a missile attack on Ukraine: a series of explosions rocked Dnipro
On the afternoon of May 3, Russian forces launched missile strikes on Ukraine, resulting in several explosions being heard in Dnipro. The Ukrainian Air Force also detected at least three high-speed targets moving toward the city, as well as missiles heading toward the Zaporizhzhia region.
The Air Force reported that the first explosion in Dnipro occurred around 3:00 p.m., after which the military warned of further threats. As of 3:24 p.m., an air raid alert was in effect across most of eastern and central Ukraine, as well as parts of the northern regions.
Emergency services and local authorities are urging residents to remain in shelters until the danger has passed. Information regarding the extent of the damage or the presence of casualties in Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia is currently being verified. Russia’s aggression against civilian infrastructure continues with the use of ballistic and cruise missiles. Monitoring channels continue to track the activity of enemy aircraft and missile systems. Thus, the situation in the shelling zone remains tense.
Russian drones also attacked the Mykolaiv region again overnight. Energy infrastructure was targeted, leaving some settlements without power.
In addition, the Zaporizhzhia region endured hundreds of air and ground attacks over the past 24 hours. There are casualties, including a child among the injured.
On May 2, Russian troops attacked Kherson and the region, killing two people and wounding 18 others.
