Russia attacked Ukraine with "Shahed" and "Gerbera" drones; air defense forces shot down 298 drones

Ukraine's air defense forces have shot down 298 of the 339 drones that Russian troops have used to attack the country since the evening of March 31.

This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force on Telegram. 

It is noted that starting at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, the enemy launched an attack with 339 strike drones, including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and other types. About 200 of them were Shahed-type drones.

The launches were carried out from Russian territory—from the regions of Bryansk, Kursk, Orel, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as from the temporarily occupied territories of Crimea and Donetsk.

The air attack was repelled by the Ukrainian Air Force, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned aerial systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

As of 8:00 a.m. on April 1, the destruction or neutralization of 298 drones in various regions of Ukraine has been confirmed.

At the same time, 20 strike drones were recorded hitting 11 locations, and debris from downed drones was found at 5 locations.

The attack continues—there are still about 20 enemy drones in Ukrainian airspace.

On the night of April 1, a Russian drone was reported to have crashed on the grounds of a facility in the Myrhorod district of Poltava region.

In Lutsk, Russian strike drones attacked industrial infrastructure, destroying a Nova Poshta terminal and damaging an apartment building.

In Velyka Pysarivka, Sumy Oblast, gas distribution infrastructure was damaged as a result of another attack by Russian forces.

Russian troops attacked a civilian vehicle in the Velyka Pysarivka community in Sumy Oblast, dropping explosives from a drone. A man was killed in the strike.
