Russia Rarely Uses Ships for Missile Strikes - Pletenchuk
Ukrainian Navy spokesperson Dmytro Pletenchuk reported that Russian forces have used ships to launch cruise missiles at Ukrainian territory only once in the past month. According to him, there are currently no enemy ships in the Black and Azov Seas. He also noted that Russian naval activity in this area remains low.
This was reported on television by Ukrainian Navy spokesperson Dmytro Plentenchuk.
“In fact, over the past month, these were essentially the only launches involving sea-based cruise missile carriers. For example, as of now, the enemy does not, in principle, have any ships at sea. Nor did it hold any before that. And even during attacks, this essentially amounts to a few-hour sortie at sea to complicate matters for Ukrainian air defense during a massive combined strike. So, I can say that the situation remains fairly stable in the Azov-Black Sea region,” Pletenchuk said.
At the same time, he noted that enemy air activity is quite high, as the Russians are using it as a means of air defense.
Responding to a question about the increase in attacks by the Defense Forces on the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea, Pletenchuk noted that much remains behind the scenes.
“In fact, many things remain behind the scenes, but nevertheless, the work is indeed ongoing and takes place practically every day, especially at night. Indeed, in local social media groups, you can see the local population’s reaction. In reality, many of these things are quite difficult to verify based solely on, so to speak, ordinary citizens with their phones, because the targets are quite far away and hidden. But there are results, and the work continues and will continue in the future,” the spokesperson noted.
He reminded that Crimeans currently have many questions regarding logistics as well.
