Russia may cut oil production due to attacks by Ukrainian drones

Russia may cut oil production due to attacks by Ukrainian drones

Russian oil companies are preparing to cut production due to restrictions on export capacity caused by attacks on infrastructure.

This is reported by Reuters.

According to industry sources, attacks on ports, oil pipelines, and refineries have caused Russia to lose about 20% of its export capacity—approximately 1 million barrels per day.

As a result, the oil transportation system is overloaded, and storage facilities are filling up faster than usual.

In particular, Transneft has informed exporters that the Baltic port of Ust-Luga cannot operate normally due to damage and is unable to fully receive oil from producers.

The situation is exacerbated by seasonal maintenance at oil refineries, which reduces processing volumes and increases the surplus of raw materials.

Under these conditions, a reduction in production becomes inevitable, as it is impossible to export oil in the necessary volumes.

As a reminder, drones attacked the Bashneft refinery in Ufa, causing a massive fire.

As a reminder, on the night of March 26, units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck the Kirishi oil refinery in the city of Kirishi, Leningrad Oblast, Russia.
