Russia launched a ballistic missile strike on Chernihiv; there are casualties

A man was killed and another person was injured as a result of a Russian ballistic missile strike on a facility in Chernihiv. 

According to Dmytro Bryzhynskyi, head of the city’s military administration, a 17-year-old girl was also injured by the blast wave. The strike caused destruction and damage to industrial buildings on the premises of the facility, where people were present at the time of the strike.

Rescue services and law enforcement officers are working at the scene, documenting the consequences of yet another Russian war crime against Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure. The injured girl is receiving necessary medical care, and her condition is being assessed by doctors. According to preliminary data from the Military Administration, the enemy used ballistic weapons, which significantly reduced the time available to react and take cover. Debris clearance at the facility is ongoing, and State Emergency Service units are searching the premises for other possible victims.

This attack was yet another act of terror against the city’s civilian population, which is under constant threat of shelling from border regions of the Russian Federation. Local authorities are urging residents to strictly follow air raid alerts, especially given the use of ballistic weapons. Currently, efforts are underway to document the damage inflicted on the facility and gather evidence for international tribunals. The situation in the city remains tense, but all utility and emergency services are operating on an enhanced schedule.
