End of the energy truce: Russia resumed attacks on Ukraine’s power system
Deputy Minister of Energy Artem Nekrasov announced the end of the “energy truce” and the resumption of Russian strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
As a result of the attacks, consumers in Kharkiv, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, and Cherkasy regions were left without electricity.
Restoration work is ongoing at the damaged energy facilities.
In Kyiv and Kyiv region, a deficit of capacity has been recorded. Returning to hourly power outage schedules will only be possible after the energy system stabilizes.
In some regions, emergency blackouts are being applied due to the difficult situation, but after stabilization, consumers will return to the planned schedules.
Severe weather conditions have further complicated the situation — more than 160 settlements in Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Kirovohrad regions remain without power. Energy company workers are restoring damaged power lines around the clock.
Nekrasov emphasized the urgent need to stabilize the energy system to restore normal electricity supply across the country.
