Authorities in Russia's Vologda Region have reported a drone attack on the industrial zone in Cherepovets, where the facilities of the PhosAgro chemical company are located.
This was reported by Russian authorities.
According to Governor Georgy Filimonov, air defense forces allegedly shot down 13 drones “as they approached the industrial site.” However, details regarding possible hits have not been officially disclosed.
Emergency services are working at the crash site.
It is also reported that Cherepovets Airport temporarily suspended operations—it was closed in the morning and reopened approximately six hours later.
Earlier reports indicated that the nitrogen complex of a company belonging to the PhosAgro Group—one of Europe’s largest producers of phosphate fertilizers—may have been targeted.
Some international partners have appealed to Ukraine to stop attacks on Russian oil refineries due to the risk of deepening the global energy crisis. Kirill Budanov reported this in an interview with Bloomberg.
