Russia carried out 56 strikes on the Sumy region over the past 24 hours; there have been fatalities
Over the 24-hour period from July 6 to July 7, Russian troops carried out 56 strikes on 22 settlements in the Sumy region. Two civilians were killed as a result of the enemy attacks, and another person, who had been wounded during a previous shelling, died in the hospital. Significant damage to civilian infrastructure was also reported.
According to law enforcement officials, in the Velyka Pysarivka community, a Russian drone struck a private residence, killing a 57-year-old man.
In the Sumy community, a strike by an enemy drone claimed the life of a 66-year-old man, who sustained severe injuries and died in the hospital. An apartment building, a private home, and passenger cars were also damaged.
In addition, a 45-year-old man died in the hospital after sustaining severe injuries during a Russian UAV attack on a gas station in Sumy on July 3.
According to the Regional Military Administration, people injured in previous Russian attacks also sought medical care: a 44-year-old woman injured in a guided missile strike on Sumy on July 3, a 75-year-old woman who was injured in a drone attack in the Popivka community on July 1, as well as a 54-year-old man and a 49-year-old woman who were wounded during the shelling of the Zno-Novgorod community on July 4.
The Russian army launched the most strikes on the Sumy and Shostka districts. The following communities came under fire: Sumy, Bilopil, Krasnopil, Vorozhba, Esman, Khutir-Mykhailivka, Seredino-Bud, Sveska, Novoslobodsk, Putivl, Velykopysarivka, Okhtyrka, Znob-Novgorod, and Hlukhiv communities came under fire.
The occupiers used mortars, artillery, FPV drones, attack drones, and guided aerial bombs in their attacks.
As a result of the shelling, residential houses, apartment buildings, a gas station, a shopping center, a hangar, civilian infrastructure, farm buildings, freight vehicles, a tractor, and passenger cars were damaged or destroyed.
Law enforcement authorities have opened criminal cases under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the laws and customs of war) regarding all instances of Russian attacks.
It is also reported that five people were evacuated from border communities in the Sumy region over the past day.

Over the past day, on July 6, Russian troops carried out 1,163 strikes on 45 settlements in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. As a result of the massive attacks, three people were killed and another 28 were wounded.
In the Poltava district, rescue workers dealt with the aftermath of yet another Russian attack on an industrial facility. The strike caused several fires on the facility’s grounds, but they were quickly extinguished.
On the morning of July 7, Russian forces launched a drone strike on Kryvyi Rih. As a result of the attack, an enemy drone struck a civilian infrastructure facility, causing a large-scale fire.
In addition, the death toll in Kyiv has risen following a massive Russian strike on the night of July 6. As of this morning, rescue workers had recovered one more body from the rubble in the Darnytskyi district, bringing the total number of victims to 19.
Two people were killed as a result of a Russian drone attack on a gas station in Zaporizhzhia. Nine others were injured, including an eight-year-old boy.
