Russia launched a terrorist attack on residential neighborhoods in Kherson; there are casualties
On April 7, 2026, at approximately 10:50 a.m., Russian troops opened fire on a residential area in the Korabelny district of Kherson. The shells struck private homes occupied by civilians.
According to Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, three people were killed in the shelling: two women aged 71 and 72, and a 60-year-old man. The number of wounded has now risen to five, including two women aged 57 and 71 and a 72-year-old man. The victims are receiving necessary medical care in the city’s hospitals.
This latest act of aggression by the Russian Federation against the civilian population occurred amid the ongoing terror in frontline territories and the deliberate destruction of residential buildings. While Ukraine is working to secure additional air defense resources to protect the southern regions, the occupiers continue to use artillery and drones to strike residential neighborhoods. The international community has repeatedly condemned such actions as war crimes, yet Moscow ignores calls for a ceasefire. Currently, rescue services and law enforcement are working at the scene of the tragedy to document the aftermath of the attack. The situation in the city remains tense due to the constant threat of renewed shelling from the left bank.
Russian troops have once again struck civilian infrastructure—drones attacked warehouses belonging to the food company Star Brands in Pavlohrad.
In Obukhiv, a RussianShahed drone struck a residential building.
