Anti-drone nets have been installed 9 km from Putin's residence in Valdai
In the Valdai District of the Novgorod Region of the Russian Federation, near the M-10 highway, special anti-drone nets have been installed above truck parking areas. The new protective structures are located approximately nine kilometers from Putin’s country residence.
According to Russian media reports, massive nets have been stretched directly over the trucks parked in specially equipped parking lots. An analysis of archived images from Yandex Maps and Google Maps shows that such structures did not exist in this area as recently as 2025.
According to journalists, the strengthening of security in the Valdai area began after the Ukrainian special operation “Pavutina,” conducted in June 2025.
Earlier reports also mentioned the installation of at least seven towers around the residence equipped with “Pantsir-S1” anti-aircraft missile and gun systems designed to counter drones.

The “Valdai” residence is one of the Russian president’s main country residences. It is located on the shore of Lake Uzhyn in the Novgorod region and covers an area of about 250 hectares.
On the night of June 5, attack drones struck a number of targets in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. In Luhansk, a massive fire broke out at an oil depot following the attack; explosions and strikes were also reported in the areas of Donetsk, Vuhlehirsk, and Mariupol.
On June 3 and during the night of June 4, Ukrainian defense forces struck a number of key military targets belonging to the Russian aggressor.
