Russia has increased the number of jet drones used in attacks on Ukraine fivefold, according to Ignat

Russian forces are stepping up their use of jet-powered drones in attacks on Ukraine. In July 2026, the occupying forces used five times as many of these UAVs as they did in June. In some attacks, they accounted for two-thirds of the total number of drones deployed.

According to Ignat, the number of jet-powered drones in Russian attacks is constantly increasing.

“During SOME ATTACKS, Russia’s jet-powered UAVs account for up to two-thirds of the total number of drones deployed,” the spokesperson noted.

He emphasized that the situation is changing rapidly, and the enemy is gradually increasing the percentage of jet-powered drones in its strike groups.

“For example, in July, the enemy used five times more jet-powered UAVs than in June, Ignat said.

At the same time, he said, Russia is currently using more conventional “Shaheds” than jet-powered drones.

The Air Force spokesperson cited Russia’s nighttime attack on August 14 as an example. In total, the enemy deployed 108 drones, more than 30 of which were jet-powered.

Thus, Russia continues to ramp up its use of high-speed jet-powered UAVs, gradually increasing their share in massive air attacks on Ukraine.

This was reported by Yuriy Ignat, a spokesperson for the Ukrainian Air Force, on Facebook.
