In the Odesa region, a grain silo and a hotel caught fire following an attack by Russia
In the Odesa region, fires broke out in two districts following yet another Russian attack. In the Odesa district, a grain storage facility caught fire, while in the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district, the roof of a hotel complex and dry grass caught fire. According to preliminary reports, no one was injured.
Rescue workers received reports of fires in two districts of the region and immediately headed to the scenes. In the Odesa district, the fire engulfed a warehouse where grain was stored. The fire was large-scale, so significant rescue forces and equipment were deployed to extinguish it.
Another fire broke out in the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi District. There, the roof of a hotel complex caught fire following a lightning strike. Dry grass near the building also caught fire. Rescue workers operated simultaneously at several locations to prevent the fire from spreading. The fires were quickly extinguished. According to preliminary reports, there were no fatalities or injuries.
More than 60 rescue workers were deployed to extinguish the fires
Fifty-eight rescuers from the State Emergency Service and 14 pieces of equipment were deployed to the sites of the Russian attack. They were also assisted by local firefighters. An additional seven people and two pieces of equipment from the local fire department were called in to help with the cleanup. Specialists extinguished the fires while ensuring that the flames did not spread to neighboring buildings and areas.
The fire at the grain warehouse required special attention. Such fires can spread rapidly due to the large amount of combustible materials, so it was crucial for the rescue workers not only to extinguish the flames but also to contain the fire.
In the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district, firefighters also responded to a fire near a hotel complex. In addition to the building’s roof, the fire engulfed nearby dry grass, posing a risk of further spread. The State Emergency Service noted that the firefighters brought the fires under control and prevented them from spreading further.
Russia regularly attacks the Odesa region
The Odesa region remains one of the targets of Russian attacks.
