Russian forces have begun equipping loitering drones with microphones for attacks on vehicles
Russian occupation forces are employing a new tactic using “loitering” FPV drones equipped with microphones to detect and attack vehicles near the front lines. The drones hide out of drivers’ sight along roads and react to the sound of passing vehicles. This was reported by Serhiy “Flash” Beskrestnov, an advisor to the President of Ukraine on the development of defense technologies.
In a Russian video he shared, a drone can be seen hiding behind a gate in a courtyard, then suddenly taking off to attack a pickup truck carrying Ukrainian soldiers as it drives through a village.

Serhiy “Flash” Beskrestnov, a special advisor to the president, warned of the potential danger posed by the Russian “Rassvet” satellite network, which is described as an analogue of Starlink. According to him, Ukraine needs to prepare electronic warfare capabilities in advance to counter this system.
A new version of the Russian multi-purpose “Gerbera” drone has been spotted in Ukraine. The first images of the updated drone have already appeared online.
