Rescue operations following the strike on a building in Kyiv have officially concluded

Emergency rescue operations have been completed in Kyiv at the site of a Russian strike on a 16-story residential building in the Darnytskyi district. Rescue workers have finished clearing the rubble and dealing with the aftermath of the attack, which caused significant damage to the high-rise building.

"Today, during operations on the 12th and 13th floors, approximately 42 cubic meters of construction debris were cleared. Using an XCMG QY75K truck crane provided by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Rivne Oblast, 24 fragments of reinforced concrete slabs with a total weight of about 53 metric tons were removed from these same floors,” the statement said.

Human remains discovered during the work were handed over to National Police officers for forensic medical examination.

Today, 30 rescue workers and 8 pieces of equipment from the Kyiv State Emergency Service were deployed to address the aftermath of the incident.

In total, as of today, 31 people have died and 102 have been injured as a result of the Russian attack on July 2.

The State Emergency Service reported this on Facebook.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga urged Western partners not to delay decisions on providing Ukraine with additional air defense capabilities following yet another massive Russian attack on Kyiv.

As a result of the massive Russian attack on the night of July 2, public transportation routes in Kyiv have been altered. This was caused by damage to the overhead power lines, a power outage, and cleanup efforts following the enemy shelling.
