Russia is stepping up its operations in the Kupiansk area, but without significant success
There has been a noticeable increase in combat activity by Russian forces in the Kupiansk area.
This was reported by Viktor Trigubov, spokesperson for the Joint Forces Operation.
According to him, the enemy is attempting to put pressure on Ukrainian positions from several directions and create conditions for a possible advance, but has not achieved any significant results.
Occupation forces are also attempting to conduct offensive operations in the Kupiansk and Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi areas. At the same time, the city itself remains under Ukrainian control, although the outskirts are under constant pressure.
Military officials note that the situation remains tense, and the enemy’s activity must be regularly contained by defense forces.
Additionally, statements from the Russian Federation regarding the creation of so-called “buffer zones” in various directions are once again being made in the public sphere; however, Ukrainian military officials assess these statements as political in nature and inconsistent with the Russian army’s actual capabilities.
In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian troops are increasingly less likely to use heavy equipment and are shifting to tactics involving small infantry groups. The reason is the effective operation of Ukrainian drones, which are destroying enemy transport.
As a reminder, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have regained control of 480 square kilometers of territory and continue to repel Russian attacks in the Oleksandrivka sector.
Despite significant losses, Russian troops continue to attempt to turn the tide of the fighting in their favor. At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are inflicting maximum losses on the enemy and gradually wearing them down.
As a reminder, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine General Oleksandr Syrskyi coordinated further actions with unit commanders in the Southern Operational Zone to conduct effective active defense.
As a reminder, former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson visited the positions of the 65th Brigade on the Zaporizhzhia sector of the front.
Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian defense forces have eliminated 1,440 Russian soldiers and destroyed a significant amount of enemy equipment.
