Russia Attacked a Foreign Vessel in the Odesa Region — Zelenskyy

During a nighttime and morning attack on September 28, Russian troops struck a ship flying the Palau flag in the Odesa region. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported this.

According to him, Russian attacks targeted several regions of Ukraine. In Kharkiv, a high-rise building was hit, with the second and fourth floors partially destroyed. Twenty-eight people were injured, including nine children.

In Kyiv, drone attacks damaged residential buildings, communications facilities, and gas stations. The Russians also destroyed a café and attacked a grocery market.

In the Zhytomyr region, an ice cream factory was damaged. Strikes on residential buildings were reported in the Sumy, Rivne, Kharkiv, and Odesa regions. Critical infrastructure came under attack in the Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Khmelnytskyi, and Zaporizhzhia regions.

Across Ukraine, dozens of people are known to have been wounded or killed. In particular, two people were killed in the Kyiv region, one of whom was an Azerbaijani citizen.

Zelenskyy called on international partners to step up their support for Ukraine, specifically by providing additional air defense systems, assistance to the energy sector, and funding to cover the budget deficit.

On the night of September 23, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 161 strike drones of various types. Among them were 82 jet-powered UAVs. As of 8:00 a.m., air defense forces had destroyed or neutralized 119 enemy drones and three additional “Banderole”/“Dan-T” drones. 

Since the evening of September 22, Russian troops have attacked two districts in the Dnipropetrovsk region more than 10 times. The occupiers used drones and dropped aerial bombs; one person was injured as a result of the attacks.
