Russia attacked Ukraine with "Shahed" drones; air defense forces shot down 93 of 102 enemy UAVs

On the night of March 27, Russian forces launched a massive attack on Ukraine, deploying 102 strike drones of various types, including Shahed, "Gerbera," and "Italmas." About 60 of them were Shahed drones.

This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force. 

The drones were launched from the directions of Kursk, Orel, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), as well as from Gvardeyskoye in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned aerial systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

According to preliminary data as of 08:30, Ukrainian air defense destroyed or neutralized 93 enemy drones in the north, south, and east of the country.

Nine strike drones were recorded hitting eight locations. Debris from downed UAVs also fell at four additional locations.

Information regarding damage and casualties is being clarified.

The day before, Russian troops launched an attack with an FPV drone on the town of Semenivka in the Chernihiv region.

Additionally, the occupiers advanced near Hryshyne and Riznykivka in the Donetsk region.

The Ukrainian Air Force warned of high activity by Russian drones.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces also thwarted a Russian offensive planned for March.
