Russia struck DTEK's power facilities in the Donetsk region twice

Russian troops attacked DTEK employees twice in a frontline town in Donetsk Oblast. The workers were carrying out repair work and were on a business trip when they came under fire. The injured were hospitalized.

Russian occupiers attacked DTEK energy workers twice in the Donetsk region. The workers who were hit were restoring power lines after previous shelling and ensuring the operation of critical infrastructure. The company reported that the first attack occurred during repair work. Russian troops struck the power workers with a guided aerial bomb. Later, while on a work trip in the same frontline area, the workers were attacked by a Russian drone.

DTEK noted that all those injured received the necessary medical care. “Our colleagues were injured in one of the frontline settlements during repair work and a business trip as a result of a guided aerial bomb strike and a drone attack,” the company’s press service reported.

After both strikes, the employees were promptly given first aid and then transported to the hospital. The company has not yet provided an update on their current condition. In addition to the people, equipment was also damaged. The explosions damaged the service vehicles used by the repair crews. DTEK emphasizes that despite the constant danger, its energy workers travel daily to frontline areas to restore power after Russian attacks. They often have to carry out their work under the threat of renewed shelling.

The company reiterated that it is precisely thanks to the work of the repair crews that thousands of residents in frontline communities are able to have electricity restored even after massive strikes on the energy infrastructure. This was reported by DTEK’s press service.

As a reminder, the Russian Armed Forces suffered 1,310 casualties in the past 24 hours, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The occupiers attacked Kostiantynivka with incendiary munitions and caused a “phosphorus rain.”
