Russia may be firing up to 100 ballistic missiles at Ukraine per month — intelligence

Russia may be firing up to 100 ballistic missiles at Ukraine per month — intelligence

The Russian Federation has the technical capability to launch up to 100 ballistic missiles at Ukrainian cities every month without depleting the untouchable portion of its own strategic stockpiles.

The ramp-up of ballistic weapons production within the aggressor nation’s territory remains one of the key threats to national security.

According to operational data from military intelligence, the Russian military-industrial complex is maintaining consistently high rates of weapons production.

In particular, in 2026, the Kremlin expects to receive a significant number of missiles for operational-tactical systems, while also substantially increasing the production of other types of weapons that the occupiers have adapted for strikes against ground targets.

“According to the response, based on GUR data, in 2026 Russia’s military-industrial complex plans to supply up to 700 9M723 ballistic missiles to the Iskander tactical missile system—the same number as last year. The monthly production rate for these missiles remains at 55–60 units,” intelligence analysts note.

Of particular concern is the situation regarding the modernization of anti-aircraft guided missiles, which the enemy uses to terrorize frontline and rear regions of Ukraine.

Russian defense plants have managed to more than double the production volume of RM-48U strike missiles, designed for S-300PM and S-400-type anti-aircraft missile systems.

While the occupiers’ industry produced over 200 such units in 2025, the plan for 2026 calls for the production of over 480 units, which amounts to a rate of up to 50 missiles per month.

In addition, Russia plans to manufacture up to 60 hypersonic aeroballistic missiles of the “Kinzhal” type.

“Given this rate of ballistic missile production, the enemy could deploy up to 100 such missiles each month to strike targets on Ukrainian territory while maintaining a steady level of their stockpiles,” the intelligence report emphasized.

This assessment was released by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in response to an official information request from journalists at Ukrainska Pravda.

The occupiers launched a massive barrage of fire on four districts of the Kyiv region, causing destruction

As a reminder, Russia attacked dozens of settlements in the Kherson region over the past 24 hours, resulting in casualties.

Over the past day, Russian troops shelled 49 settlements in the Sumy region. As a result of the attacks, one person was killed, and four more civilians were wounded.

On the evening of May 24, Russian troops carried out an airstrike on Druzhkivka in the Donetsk region, hitting a high-rise residential building. A woman was killed in the attack, and five other people were wounded.

In the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kyiv, a business center was hit following a massive nighttime attack by Russia. Preliminary reports indicate that people may be trapped inside the shelter.

As a result of Russia’s massive missile and drone attack on Kyiv, the shock wave damaged the ground-level lobby of the Lukyanivska metro station.
