Russia Is Spreading Fake Claims of Victories on the Front Lines Using AI — ISW
The Russian Ministry of Defense and military bloggers continue to exaggerate the successes of the occupying forces in an attempt to create the impression of a large-scale advance by the Russian army.
In particular, the Russian blogger “Warrior DV” published videos that allegedly confirm the capture of a number of settlements near Oleksandrivka and Huliaipole. At the same time, ISW analysts have found evidence that some of this footage may have been created or altered using AI, and some of the footage may be old.
Thus, the published videos cannot be considered reliable confirmation of the advance claimed by the Russians.
According to ISW’s assessment, Moscow is using such materials as part of a disinformation campaign to create the impression of alleged large-scale Russian successes and a possible collapse of Ukrainian defenses.
