Russia has reinforced security at Putin's residence in Valdai with two rings of air defense systems
In March 2026, seven new towers were erected around Russian dictator Vladimir Putin’s residence in Valdai, equipped with Pantsir air defense systems.
Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reported this on Telegram.
According to investigators, construction of all seven structures began simultaneously on March 17. As of today, some of these towers are already fully equipped with anti-aircraft missile systems ready for combat duty.
The overall defense strategy for the facility involves a layered defense. The air defense systems now surround the residence with two concentric rings—one large and one small—designed to ensure maximum interception of aerial targets.
Following the completion of the final construction phase, the total number of Pantsir systems around Valdai has reached 27 units.
Such an excessive concentration of military equipment indicates the Kremlin’s growing fear of potential air attacks.
The residence in Valdai holds not only political but also personal significance for Putin. Journalists previously discovered that Alina Kabaeva spends a significant portion of her time here with the Russian leader’s sons.
Special conditions were created on the premises to ensure comfort and a familiar working environment. In particular, an exact replica of the dictator’s office in the Kremlin was built there for him.
Similar efforts to strengthen air defense are observed not only at the Russian leadership’s vacation spots. Earlier, similar towers equipped with machine guns and “Pantsir” systems were spotted in the “Alabuga” special economic zone in Tatarstan.
