Russia launched a missile and drone attack on the Odesa region overnight; there are casualties
On the night of May 15, Russian forces launched a combined missile and drone strike on the Odesa region. The attack resulted in civilian casualties and damage to residential buildings and infrastructure.
This was reported by Oleg Kipper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration.
Civilian targets were the main targets of the Russians.
According to Kipper, two people were injured in the shelling.
Residential areas and businesses were hit.
As a result of the Russian attack, private residential buildings, technical structures, a non-residential building, utility and administrative buildings, and passenger cars were damaged.
The State Emergency Service specified that four residential buildings and one non-residential structure were damaged in the residential area.
Some homes were partially destroyed by the explosions. Windows were shattered and structural elements damaged in the buildings.
Three passenger cars were also damaged.
Several fires were reported as a result of the strike, including at critical infrastructure sites.
Rescue workers quickly extinguished the fires.
Emergency services and utility workers are currently continuing to work at the sites of the shelling.
Since the evening, Russian forces have carried out nearly 20 drone attacks on two districts in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The Nikopol and Pavlohrad districts were targeted.
In addition, Russian drones attacked an energy facility in the Odesa region in the evening. Dozens of settlements were left without electricity as a result of the strike.
During a massive Russian missile and drone strike on the night of May 13–14, two gas stations were destroyed on Kharkiv Square in Kyiv. This was reported by Serhiy Kuyun, director of the A-95 consulting group, who noted that the facilities sustained significant damage as a result of the combined attack.
