Russians shelled the Donetsk region 32 times over the past 24 hours

Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops have shelled settlements in the Donetsk region 32 times. Seven civilians were wounded, with the highest number of casualties reported in Sloviansk and Bilenke. During the same period, 583 people, including 51 children, were evacuated from frontline areas.

 

Russian troops continue to shell towns and villages in the Donetsk region. Over the past day, settlements in the Kramatorsk and Pokrovsk districts came under fire. According to Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, seven civilians were wounded as a result of the attacks.

Sloviansk was hit the hardest. Three people were injured there. Russian strikes also damaged 16 private homes and one high-rise building. In Kramatorsk, a high-rise building and a car were damaged. Three more people were injured in Bilenke. A high-rise building and a private home were also damaged there. In Druzhkivka, one more person was injured as a result of Russian shelling.

The Pokrovsk district was also targeted. In Bilozerka, Russian shelling destroyed three private homes. Two more homes were damaged. No reports of casualties in Bilozerka have been received.

In total, over the past 24 hours, Russian forces shelled settlements in the Donetsk region 32 times. Amid the constant attacks, authorities continue to evacuate people from dangerous areas. Over the past 24 hours, 583 people were evacuated from the front lines, including 51 children.

How many people have been evacuated in recent days

In recent days, the number of people evacuated from the Donetsk region has remained high. On September 18, 1,102 people, including 113 children, were evacuated from frontline areas. On September 17, 819 people, including 77 children, were evacuated.

On September 16, 718 people, including 74 children, were evacuated from dangerous areas. Filashkin regularly urges residents of settlements near the front line not to remain under constant shelling and to take advantage of the opportunity to evacuate.

How the Situation Has Changed in Donetsk Oblast

Russian troops attack the region daily. At the same time, the number of shelling incidents and their consequences vary from day to day. On September 18, the occupiers shelled settlements in Donetsk Oblast 18 times. One person was killed, and 13 more civilians were wounded. On September 17, 30 shelling incidents were recorded. One person was killed, and six civilians were wounded.

On September 16, Russian troops shelled settlements in the region 23 times. Two people were killed, and five others were wounded. As of September 7, approximately 91,000 residents remained in the part of Donetsk Oblast controlled by Ukraine. Among them were 4,368 children. Amid ongoing Russian attacks, the evacuation of civilians from areas near the front lines remains one of the local authorities’ top priorities. Filashkin wrote about this on Telegram.

Russian troops attacked the Zaporizhzhia region 928 times over the past 24 hours. One person was killed and three others were wounded as a result of strikes on the Zaporizhzhia district. Fifty-five settlements in the region came under fire.

Russian forces attacked a monastery in the village of Chervonyi Mayak, in the Novorayska community of the Kherson region, using a drone. A 71-year-old clergyman was killed in the strike, and four other priests were wounded.
