Russians are worried about their troops in Transnistria and want to reinforce them — Budanov

The Russian command is concerned about the safety of its military contingent in Transnistria and is attempting to take measures to strengthen it.

This was stated by Kirill Budanov, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, in an interview.

According to him, Russia is not abandoning its plans to intensify activities in the region, but at the same time fears for its own forces.

Budanov called this a “war of fears” and noted that the Russians want to prepare their troops for possible developments.

He emphasized that Ukraine is monitoring the situation and is ready to respond.

Also, according to Budanov’s assessment, the Russian force in unrecognized Transnistria is “too weak,” and it is currently impossible to significantly increase its capabilities.

At the same time, he expressed doubt that control over the region could be established without military action, although Ukraine is theoretically capable of doing so.

Moldovahas declared its readiness to join the coalition of the resolute.
