The Russians shelled the Sumy region nearly 60 times in the past 24 hours
Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops carried out nearly 60 strikes on 24 settlements in the Sumy region, which are part of 10 territorial communities. Damage was reported as a result of the attacks.
The Sumy and Shostka districts saw the most shelling.
“Fortunately, there were no civilian casualties or injuries over the past 24 hours. Destruction and damage to private homes, non-residential buildings, and civilian infrastructure were recorded,” the statement reads.
The enemy used mortars, artillery, FPV drones, UAVs, and guided aerial bombs against the Sumy region. Civilian infrastructure facilities that were damaged or destroyed include: an apartment building, private homes, vehicles, stores, an infrastructure facility, and non-residential premises.
The Regional Military Administration also added that a 27-year-old man, who was wounded on August 18 in the Kyrykivka community as a result of a strike by an enemy drone, sought medical attention.
Over the past 24 hours, 53 people were evacuated from border communities.
The Sumy Regional State Administration reported this on Telegram.
The Sumy region will be protected from FPV drones over an additional 37 km.
The Sumy region has allocated an additional 10 million hryvnias for the purchase of mobile shelters.
