Video: The Ukrainian Armed Forces took down the star of the “Bad, bad, whatever” meme
On August 20, it was reported that a 50-year-old native of the Altai Krai, who rose to fame after appearing on the show “Let’s Get Married!” and became the subject of a popular meme, had been killed. According to Russian sources, in March 2026, he went to war against Ukraine and was killed on the front lines shortly thereafter.
Russian propaganda media reported that the “meme star” left for the so-called “special military operation” in March 2026 and, just one month later, found himself on the front lines, where he was killed.
Vladimir gained widespread popularity in his hometown back in 2018 after appearing on the Russian show “Let’s Get Married!” During the show, he was rejected by one of the female contestants.
His emotional reaction made such an impression on viewers that, years later, a clip from the episode became one of the most popular memes.
“It’s bad. It’s really, really bad—it doesn’t matter. Things are going very badly for me,” the occupier said after the unsuccessful date.
However, his real surge in popularity didn’t come until late 2024. The clip from the TV show began circulating widely on social media, and Volodymyr unexpectedly gained tens of thousands of followers on his pages. Because of this, he even started calling himself a blogger and creating blatantly vulgar content.
On his VKontakte page, he even called himself “Vladimir from the show ‘Let’s Get Married’” and offered to record custom video greetings: “I make custom video greetings! Message me.”
In particular, before he donned the occupier’s uniform, the 50-year-old man worked for the railroad, from where he posted photos online.
