Russians launched a massive drone attack on Kharkiv; there are casualties
On the night of June 1, Russian forces launched a massive drone strike on Kharkiv and the surrounding region. According to local authorities, 14 “Shahed” drones attacked several areas of the city, causing fires, damage to residential buildings, and injuries among civilians.
This was reported by Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov and the head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, Oleg Synyegubov.
About ten strikes were recorded on the outskirts of the Slobidska district, bordering the ring road. Terekhov warned residents that enemy combat drones were still flying toward the city.
In the Osnovyanskyi district, a drone struck a garage cooperative next to high-rise buildings—garages and cars caught fire. Synyegubov also reported a strike on a five-story building in the same district: a fire broke out, and emergency services arrived at the scene.
Two people were injured in the Osnovyanskyi district—medical personnel provided them with assistance. Additionally, a strike was recorded in the Kyivskyi district of the city—the consequences are being assessed.
A drone also struck the town of Bohodukhiv in the Kharkiv region. There, a 39-year-old woman suffered an acute stress reaction—medical personnel treated her on site, Sinyegubov reported.
According to Synyegubov, in the Osnovyanskyi district, a five-story residential building and nearby high-rises were damaged, two garages were destroyed and five more were damaged, and cars were also affected. Specialized services are addressing the aftermath of the attack.
Mayor Ihor Terekhov clarified: a total of 14 “Shaheds” struck the Slobidska, Osnovyanska, and Kyivska districts of the city—damaging ten residential buildings. “The power grid and contact network are destroyed, and a traffic light is damaged. We are currently doing everything possible to restore everything as quickly as possible. The enemy is not leaving Kharkiv; it is constantly attacking with either ‘Shaheds’ or ‘Molniyas.’ Unfortunately, tonight was no exception,” the mayor noted.
At 3:18 a.m., Ihor Terekhov reported that an enemy “Molniya”-type drone struck the Kholodnohirskyi district. Three private homes were damaged; at this time, there are no casualties.


In the Kherson region over the past day, 21 people were wounded as a result of Russian shelling; the region came under massive attacks by drones, artillery, and aircraft.
Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops carried out 911 strikes on 40 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region. The occupiers used aircraft, artillery, and hundreds of drones, damaging residential buildings, vehicles, and infrastructure.
