President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia has stepped up its contacts with Alexander Lukashenko in an attempt to draw Belarus deeper into the war.
According to the head of state, Moscow is considering scenarios for new aggressive operations from Belarusian territory—either against the Chernihiv-Kyiv region in Ukraine or against one of the NATO countries bordering Belarus.
The president also reported that the Ukrainian side has obtained Russian documents listing potential targets for strikes on Kyiv and other cities, specifically political and military facilities where the country’s leadership may be located.
According to Zelenskyy, following the events surrounding Iran, the Russians have become active again and are trying to determine the exact locations of the Ukrainian leadership, intelligence officials, and special services.
“Some people there in Moscow still haven’t understood that Ukrainians will never surrender their independence,” the president emphasized.
He added that the Defense Forces have already been tasked with preparing a response plan, and the Chernihiv-Kyiv sector will be further reinforced.
