Over the past few weeks, Russian troops have established several small areas of control near the Ukrainian border in the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector. At the same time, enemy activity has decreased somewhat in recent days, but the situation remains tense.
Viktor Tregubov, a spokesperson for the Joint Forces Operation, spoke about this during a televised marathon. According to him, over the past week, Russian troops have been actively attacking, particularly in the Lyman and Southern Slobozhansky sectors.
“Over the past few days, activity has decreased slightly. But this is a short-term trend, as it was quite high earlier this week. This was particularly true in the Lyman and Southern Slobozhanshchyna sectors, where the enemy continues its active attacks,” Tregubov noted.
Meanwhile, in the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, the occupiers have been attempting to find opportunities to advance directly along the Ukrainian border and establish small zones of control there.
Tregubov noted that, overall, the Ukrainian military has been able to thwart the enemy’s attempts to advance. At the same time, over the past few weeks, the Russians have managed to establish several new areas of control in the Southern Slobozhansky direction.
According to the spokesperson, these are small areas directly along the border.
