Russians killed two residents of the Donetsk region in the past 24 hours
Over the past 24 hours, on August 22, Russian troops once again shelled populated areas in the Donetsk region. Two people were killed in the attacks, and five more residents of the region were wounded.
Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, reported on the consequences of the Russian attacks. According to him, on August 22, Russian troops killed two residents of the region. The fatalities occurred in Kramatorsk and Sofiivka.
Five more people were wounded as a result of the Russian shelling. Russian troops continue to attack settlements in the Donetsk region, which remains one of the most dangerous regions in Ukraine due to constant shelling.
According to the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Russian forces have killed 4,275 people in the Donetsk region since the start of the full-scale invasion. Another 10,236 residents of the region have been wounded. These figures do not include those killed or wounded in the temporarily occupied cities of Mariupol and Volnovakha, as complete information on civilian casualties there is currently unavailable. Ukrainian authorities regularly urge residents of frontline towns to evacuate to safer areas, as Russian shelling of the region continues. Russian troops attacked the Zaporizhzhia region 559 times over the past 24 hours. Forty settlements came under fire; three people were killed, and another 20 were wounded.
On the morning of August 23, Russian forces attacked Izyum in the Kharkiv region with three guided aerial bombs. Two people were injured in the strike, and about 20 private homes were damaged. Cars and power lines were also damaged.
