Russian attacks have caused power outages in several regions of Ukraine
As of the morning of May 1, power outages affecting consumers in the Mykolaiv, Donetsk, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions have been reported as a result of Russian attacks.
This was reported by NPC "Ukrenergo."
According to the operator, Russian troops continue to launch massive strikes on civilian energy infrastructure. Emergency repair work is ongoing in frontline regions where the security situation permits.
Due to cloudy weather, electricity consumption as of this morning exceeded the previous day’s figures by 3.9%. Ukrenergo emphasizes that the power grid remains under strain.
The operator also urges Ukrainians to conserve electricity and recommends limiting the use of high-power appliances during peak hours—from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
The day before, power outages occurred in several regions of Ukraine due to Russian attacks on energy infrastructure facilities. Consumers in the Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, Odesa, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions remain temporarily without power.
In Kherson, a man riding a bicycle was killed by a Russian drone strike. His identity is currently being established, and the relevant investigation is ongoing.
